Compostable Sponge Kitchen Roll
According to Paper on the Rocks, an area roughly the size of the Netherlands is deforested each year to make paper products. Not only this, but kitchen roll is also water and energy-intensive to make and transport.
Therefore using reusable kitchen roll prevents all of the excess water and energy use making a disposable product, prevents non-recyclable waste going to landfill (although it is biodegradable), and also, saves you money in the long run buying disposable kitchen roll.
In Asda, you can get two rolls of kitchen roll with 100 sheets on each roll for £1.99. That means for £14.99 you would get through 7 and a half packs = 1,500 sheets of kitchen roll. I don't know about you, but whenever I used to use single use kitchen roll, I'd need to use 2-3, maybe even 4 sheets per use for it to do anything. That means this much single use kitchen roll will give 375 - 750 uses.
This reusable kitchen roll can be reused multiple times before being washed, and can then be machine washed or put in the dishwasher to keep it clean so that you can keep reusing. The 12 sheets should easily last for the same amount of uses as the disposable kitchen roll so is worth the investment.
I already have some reusable kitchen roll so I haven't tried these. But I will update this section with a review from a customer when I have one.
