These handy little bars are kinder to the planet, gentler on your scalp, and leave your hair super-duper soft and marvellously manageable. Just mix the bar in 600ml of boiling water, leave to cool and then decant into a recycled bottle to use as a normal conditioner.
Brand Story: These conditioner bars are made in the UK by Friendly Soap - a company with an extraordinary ethos! Their ranges contain no animal products or by-products and have never been tested on animals, which has allowed them to earn a registration with Cruelty free International and The Vegan Society. Their soap is totally biodegradable and free from by-products too, so there’s literally no waste, plus they are free from SLS and parabens!

Friendly Lavender & Tea Tree Conditioner Bar
Have you ever been down the hair care aisle of a supermarket or a Boots/Superdrug store and taken note of how many plastic bottles are actually down there in that one shop? I did once and it put things massively in perspective for me as my mind then went mad and started trying to quantify the number of plastic bottles used solely on hair care in the UK (my mind is pretty overactive)!
Conditioner bars are a 'naked' alternative to avoid the use of these many plastic bottles. These particular bars won't need to be used any differently to normal conditioner as they are to be melted down in boiling water to form a normal conditioner-like consistency.
I am so impressed with these bars. They are easy to melt down - just add 600ml of boiling water to the bar and let it melt. Once it's fully melted down and cooled, decant it into an old bottle to reuse. It all went without a hitch!
If you don't use conditioner very often like me, to keep the conditioner fresh, you could split the bar into smaller pieces and change the boiling water ratio (i.e. split the bar into 6 pieces and melt each piece separately when required with 100ml boiling water).
The texture is really nice; just feels like normal conditioner except that after use, I don't feel like my hair is coated. It just feels nourished. I love the fragrance - Lavender and Tea Tree are two of my favourites, so having them together in one bar is perfect for me!
This is a swap I've made for life.
