These reusable make-up wipes are an environmentally friendly way to clean your skin. Unlike cotton wool pads or disposable make-up wipes, these can be used again and again.
Soft & Scrub wipes are the perfect combination to exfoliate and clean your skin.
Pack of 5 - The front of the wipe is 100% organic cotton towelling perfect for scrubbing your face clean. The other side is soft 100% organic cotton fleece, gentle and smooth for wiping your eyes after a long day.
Directions for use
- Simply use the wipe with your favoured skin cleanser - this could be anything including soap, micellar water, coconut oil and cleanser.
- Once used pop your wipes in the washing machine with the rest of your washing.
- The sooner your wipes are washed the less likely they are to be stained.
- I recommend washing them at 30 degrees, alternatively you could hand wash them.
- Then simply air dry and use again!
Reusable ‘Soft & Scrub’ Face Wipes
Most beauty routines suggest cleansing and toning your skin twice a day; in the morning and before bed. This can require 2 to 4 cotton wool pads a day, which would mean that for one year, one person is using between 730 and 1,460 cotton wool pads alone - not including any pads used for removing eye make-up etc. If you start looking at the bigger picture, if every person is doing this, that ends up being a huge amount of cotton wool being thrown away every day! And, shop bought cotton wool isn't always the most ethically produced either.
These 'Soft & Scrub' reusable face wips are double sided, so one wipe should cover you for your entire routine before being popped in the wash to reuse. One side is scrubby and one side is soft. These are great for people who wear heavier make-up or people who like to have a bit of an exfoliate.
The material used for these wipes is 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without harmful chemicals, leaving the soil, air and water free from contaminates that cause harm. It also produces around 46% less CO2 emissions and far less water to grow than conventional cotton. The majority of high street disposable cotton wool is most likely farmed using harmful pesticides.
On Superdrug, a pack of 300 disposable standard cotton wool pads is £3. Based on my calculations above, if one person uses 730 to 1,460 pads per year roughly, this would be roughly 2.5 to 5 packs per year (£7.50 to £15.00). These wipes are £7 and provided they are looked after, should last longer than a year so are worth the initial investment as it should save you money in the long run.
Reusable face wipes are a massive must for me and are probably one of the easiest swaps you can make to become zero-waste! They don't take any adjustment from our normal habits, except that we put our used wipes in the wash instead of in the bin.
These wipes are lovely and soft on one side and scrubbier on the other which makes them perfect for your whole skin care routine.
