A reusable cup is only as good as how easy it is to clean. To clean your Stojo, take it apart (you’re not breaking it, I promise) and place all components on the top rack of your dishwasher, or wash by hand. To collapse, simply remove the temperature sleeve, open the mouth tab, and close your Stojo like an accordion. Reinsert sleeve, and close tab for a leak-proof seal.
Stojo Collapsible Coffee Cup (5 colours available)
On average, 7 million disposable coffee cups are used in the UK EVERY DAY! That's an extortionate amount of virgin materials with a single use, thrown almost immediately into the bin - a horrendous waste, with a hefty carbon footprint. These Stojo reusable coffee cups are to be taken with you for your daily trip to the local coffee shop, to be used instead of the provided disposable takeaway cups which most of the time, are not recyclable.
Taking a coffee cup out and about 'just in case' always seems like a great idea. Until it comes to carrying it around as let's face it, they're not the most compact things in the world and they tend to get in the way a bit.
This was what drew my attention to the Stojo Collapsible Coffee Cups. They can be collapsed down into a smaller hockey puck shape which makes carrying it around A LOT easier, as it can be easily carried in a hand bag or even your back pocket!
Stojo cups are free of: BPA, BPS, cadmium, mercury, lead, and all California Prop 65 harmful substances which again, makes them a great non-toxic alternative.
The first rule of sustainability is durability, and Stojo products are meant to last a lifetime. In case the worst happens, you can recycle damaged sleeves and lids wherever #5 recyclable plastic is accepted—likely in your kerbside recycling.
So, in conclusion - you get to reduce the number of throwaway single use coffee cups used every day by using a sustainable alternative, without the inconvenience of having a bulky cup to carry around with you all day. Massive improvement in my opinion!
I am a massive tea-lover and therefore rarely feel the need to carry a reusable cup with me as I usually only enjoy my relaxing brews at home. However, I have had a play around with my friend's Stojo cup to see how easy it is use. It collapses easier than I thought it would, and you can tell from the materials that they are built to last.
As a girl who loves a more petit handbag, I love the fact that they collapse down as this would make it a lot easier to carry around with me on day out.
My rating: 8/10 (will be higher when they start to use recycled plastics to make the cups instead of virgin materials).
