Tiger & Co 'Christingle' Soy Tea Lights
A lot of our favourite candles such as Yankee are made with paraffin wax, which is made from crude oils (a fossil fuel). Soy wax on the other hand is made from renewable sources.
Research has found that paraffin wax can produce certain emissions that can compromise the air quality in your home, however the amount of these chemicals that are being released into the air are so minimal that most people are not affected by them. There have been many debates and articles about whether paraffin wax is bad for your health and if soy wax is better, but there is a lot of different opinions so suggest if you are interested in the findings that you do a quick Google search.
I don't know about you, but I don't know a single person who doesn't have at least one Yankee candle in their house somewhere. Yankee seems to be the market leader when it comes to candles. An equivalent set of 12 Yankee tea lights that have a 4-6 hour burn time retail on their website at £6.99. As mentioned above though, they are made with paraffin wax and have a plastic casing.
Soy wax is a more environmentally-friendly alternative that is considered to be higher quality so soy candles tend to have a higher price tag. On average from a quick Google search, a 12 pack of tea lights can cost anything up to around £15. So at £10 a pack, these Tiger & Co soy wax tea lights are probably budget to mid range.
I will shortly be receiving a sample pack of all of the candles to try so will update this section once I have tested the candles.
