UpCircle Cleansing Balm
What does it replace and is it an improvement?
The whole UpCircle mission is to prevent a linear economy by repurposing ingredients that would otherwise be thrown away. These cleansing balsm are made using the finely-ground powder of discarded apricot stones, a natural by-product of the apricot oil industry that otherwise would have ended up in landfill, which to me, makes this product a massive improvement in itself!
Not only this, but all of their products are vegan, cruelty free, sustainable, palm oil free, organic and 100% recyclable packaging that is as plastic free as possible!
Before I started my plastic free journey, I used to get all of my skin care products from The Body Shop. I used to use the Vitamin E cream cleanser and the camomile eye make up remover, both of which come to a total £18.50 with two plastic bottles. So at £18.99 this is slightly higher priced, however you're getting all of the added environmental benefits whilst only using one product with no plastic!
What is my review?
Since trying this product, I have noticed a real difference in my skin. I use it before bed every day to take off my make up (if I've worn any that day) and to cleanse before bed, and sometimes in the morning if I have time. It melts in your fingers and smells amazing! The fine powder in the balm acts like a very light exfoliator so you feel like you're really cleaning your skin. I can't believe how smooth my face feels afterwards considering it is not a designated exfoliating product. This is now a staple in my skin care routine! I won't be going back to my old Body Shop favourites. Highly recommend!
My rating: solid 10/10!
