Your Nature Lavender & Bergamot Deodorant
High street deodorants tend to also be anti-perspirants which seal off sweat glands to reduce sweating. This has become an appealing aspect to most in this day and age, but sweating is a natural process that our body needs to regulate its own temperature.
'Your Nature' have developed a range of deodorant sticks which are free from aluminium so do not act as an anti-perspirant, but contain all natural ingredients to combat odour. They come in a recyclable cardboard push-up tube to act like a roll-on deodorant, which is a positive given a number of the high street brands come in a plastic roll on. Just use like your normal roll on deodorant.
My high street deodorant of choice was the Nivea or Dove roll ons which I always used to get when they were on offer. They worked well, but I wanted to move to a more natural deodorant that would allow my body to do what it is designed to do.
I started with these deodorants as they were almost like for like - the way to use them is pretty much exactly the same except you push the tube up instead of twist the bottom. I used a couple of the fragrances and I liked all of them for different reasons. They're strong enough to be noticeable but not too overpowering, but if you prefer a very subtle smell, I'd recommend the Unscented version.
They worked well - I didn't notice any change which is good as I've always been very conscious about smelling, well...bad! They were easy to apply as the cream melts a bit when it touches your body heat. The reason I now no longer use these and sourced a different natural deodorant is purely down to my extra sensitive underarm skin. Because the Your Nature deodorants contain Sodium Bicarbonate, this caused a bit of irritation on my skin after a little while. If you have extra sensitive skin, I would recommend using The Natural Deo Co Gentle Range (see on the Body Care page) which are free from Sodium Bicarbonate - these are the deodorants I now use.
My rating: 8.5/10 - my experience with sensitive skin doesn't change my opinion of the product as they worked well as a deodorant and not everyone has this reaction to Sodium Bicarbonate.
