Step-By-Step Daily Skin Routine

Our skin is the largest organ in the human body, and yet a lot of us neglect to look after it (myself included). The good news is, you can now start looking after your skin whilst also looking after our wonderful planet. UpCircle recommend using the following routine to give yourself clearer and brighter skin. I have included below what products I personally use for each step.

1) FIRST CLEANSE

This first step is to remove makeup, dirt, pollution and toxins from the day. The UpCircle Face Cleansing Balm is designed to prepare your skin for the deeper second cleanse. This cleansing balm is suitable for all skin types and is a two in one (removes make up and cleanses skin).

Simply apply the balm to your face including around your eyes, and remove with a muslin cloth or flannel. To be used daily. I use mine as part of my night time routine before bed.

2) SECOND CLEANSE

Following your first cleanse, your skin is now prepped for a deeper clean. A face cleansing soap bar is great for this step as it can penetrate more deeply into the pores to remove deeper impurities, therefore helping prevent breakouts, build-up and spots.

Just dampen your face and apply the soap bar with a little water to lather. Again, I use this daily as part of my night time routine before bed. I sometimes use it in the morning as well to start the day.

3) EXFOLIATE

This step is recommended to be done 2-3 times per week. I tend to do it mid-week before bed and a day at the weekend. The point of a face scrub is to buff away dead, dry skin to reveal fresh glowing skin underneath. Doing it regularly can help to prevent break outs.

Shake the tube first to make sure it is well mixed, and then apply to your damp skin in circular motions. Rinse off with water.

4) TONE

Toner is great for hydrating and soothing skin after the first three steps. I do this step twice each day, once in the morning and once before bed. Just apply to a reusable face wipe and gently sweep it over your face.

5) EYE CREAM

The skin around our eyes is particularly delicate so it's a good idea to give it some extra care. Eye cream helps brighten, firm and protect this skin and help with puffiness and dark circles. This product is suitable for all skin types. Use it twice daily (morning and night).

6) MOISTURISER

It's important to use the water-based product in the next two steps first. Usually this is a moisturiser. The UpCircle Face Moisturiser is suitable for all skin types, including oily skin and should be used twice daily (morning and night).

Apply with your fingertips in an upwards circular motion whilst massaging the skin.

7) HYDRATE

This is the last step. Use an oil-based, water-free serum to deliver intense nourishment and hydration. I use a different one for the morning as it is a bit lighter - the night serum is a bit thicker.

Apply a few drops to damp skin with fingertips, massaging in slowly in circular motions. You can use this time to give yourself a bit of a face massage. This can help to relax tension, improve blood flow to the face and can help to make skin glow.

All of the products mentioned above are vegan, cruelty free and plastic free wherever possible. The serums and scrubs come with plastic pipettes/lids but there is an option to reuse the same pipette/lid and to get a refill option that has an aluminium lid to reduce the plastic waste when the time comes to get a new one.

Give this routine a go and see how your skin improves! I'd love to know your results so please get in touch when you've given it a try!
